Talking to media persons at the inaugural ceremony, Col B S Sandhu, CMD WWICS said that the Nawanshahr office would serve immigration aspirants in areas of Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Ludhiana.

“Those applying now would be considered under the existing (POL). Occupations that are presently enlisted in the POL may not find place in revised list. Once revised list is released, we never know whether an occupation enlisted in POL will continue to enjoy same status in new list or not, as some categories may be deleted and many more added Those filing papers before this stipulated time period won’t be affected by changes,” he asserted.

Present POL consists of teaching professionals, managers in financial, computer and information systems, health care, restaurant and food service, accommodation service and construction. These also include financial auditors and accountants, geologists, geochemists and geophysicists, mining engineers, geological engineers, petroleum engineers, specialist physicians, general practitioners and family physicians, audiologists and speech, language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, head nurses and supervisors, registered nurses, medical radiation technologists, licensed practical nurses, university professors and college, vocational instructors, chefs, cooks, contractors and supervisors, and tradespersons also.

Post-landing services remain USP of WWICS. Along with its associate, Global Placement Services (GPS), WWICS has provided placement and settlement to more than 70000 people who are comfortably settled in Canada and Australia.
