The British School completes project Roar
Project Roar concludes with exhibition on wildlife
The British School campus enlivens with wildlife

Chandigarh, February 1, 2010.
Project Roar – a four months project on animals – concluded with a vivid wildlife exhibition held at The British School, sector 44 today.
Each class from nursery to class I created one section of sea life, desert, forest and farm animals separately. During the exhibition today, all these were put together to create a comprehensive wildlife exhibition.
The project has commenced with trips to the Sukhna Lake and Chhatbir zoological park to build awareness on wildlife. During last four months, students actively participated in animal stories, scrapbook making and animal handwork in their classes and at home.
School staff created painted life size animals on wood, which were placed in three dimensional forest. The 3-D forest was full of interesting bits of information written on tablets and stones all over the different sections of desert, forest, sea, dinosaurs and about the big wild animals, their habitat, habits etc.
Elder students wrote essays on animals and made animal masks and files from the internet and other sources. They also put up several animal skits depicting the way rhinoceros got its skin, the camel its hump and the elephant its trunk. Even parents were a part of the project roar with presentations and wildlife movies shown in school. Some parents even performed animal skits and poems for children.
Students participated in animal quiz contest that was a gamut of several interesting games. Wildlife Certificates and Badges were given to every child and trophies wree distributed to the winners.
Student Vaibhav’s mother was honored for her dramatized animal story and beautiful animal scrapbook, Sukhnaz and Harkoovar were honored for their animal files, Aarnas Lakhani’s parents were honored for their wildlife video of the Kenyan Forest Reserve, Aryan Sahu and Praleen were honored for making for best scrap books.
Staff member Anna Sergeevna from Kazakhstan the capital city Astana was honored for her power point presentation on animals in the Arctic and Antartica..
Director, Mrs. Mona Sethi, said the best way to learn was to putting things practically. This way the exercise is never forgotten and participation and competition in such things stimulates young minds.
