BJP complains to Election Commission

BJP complains to Election Commission

Chandigarh, September 9
Haryana state Bharatiya Janata Party president Krishan Pal Gurjar today submitted a complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner of India highlighting rampant violation of code of conduct by the Congress government.
While the conduct is in force, the Congress government is trying to woo voters by extending various facilities. The latest violation is that of Congress government’s move of seeking list of scheduled caste boy students from education department for distributing free cycles.
Sh Gurjar said that this was yet another bait to woo voters. He demanded an immediate action in this context. He said that even if the project had been passed earlier, the director of primary education should have kept the election code of in mind before issuing such letter.
In his complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI), BJP president has stated that such notification has been issued on the directions of chief minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda.
Hooda knows that his government will fail to make a comeback and hence is resorting to such tactics to keep the voter on his side of fence. State media in-charge Rajiv Jain stated that why did the scheme to give cycles to scheduled caste boy students come only during elections? Was government sleeping over this scheme earlier?
Sh Gurjar said that chief minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and state government have nothing to do with welfare of scheduled castes. The sole motive of Hooda is to mislead scheduled caste families. Earlier too the Congress government had used same cheap tactics to secure victory in Lok Sabha elections and forgot its promises once it won.
The BJP leader said that during Hooda’s regime in state, the scheduled caste families have suffered worst as never before. The incidents of Dalit women being physically abused, their houses being set on fire and social ostracism have become norm of day in Hooda government.
This has led to exodus of these poor and helpless people from the villages. If Hooda government really thought about welfare of scheduled castes, it should have floated a scheme for social security of these people so that they could live fearlessly.
Sh Gurjar said that Congress government’s true face has been exposed and such cheap tactics will lead government to nowhere. People have decided to oust the Congress government from state in vidhan sabha elections.
He added that these vidhan sabha elections will see BJP government taking over reins of the state and giving better opportunities for scheduled caste people to live fearlessly and with respect.
