‘Munde UK De’- promises another cinematic delight



‘Munde UK De’ to showcase generational and cultural contrast
Singer Amarinder Gill to debut with Jimmy and Neeru

Patiala, April 29: Cinegoers and lovers of Punjabi cinema are in for a yet another pleasant surprise as noted producer director Manmohan Singh embarks upon another cinematic venture through his upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Munde UK De’ scheduled to be released on 8th of May. Set against the backdrop of hip hop English life style of generation Y Indian migrants and the contrastingly beautiful environs of the greener and lush idyllic background of typically rural Punjabi set, the movie portrays the clash of generations and cultures just as the top names in Indian and Punjabi cinema and music world are set to make a mark through the venture.
While addressing the press conference here today in Patiala along with the Amarinder Gill, Neeru Bjawa, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Deep Dhillon Sr Manmohan Singh, informed that Punjabi singing sensation Amarinder Gill is all set to make a cinematic debut with ‘Munde UK De’. The movie features Jimmy Shergill and Neeru Bajwa in lead roles. A joint venture of Punj-Aab Movies International and Mukut Wala, Munde UK De has been produced, directed and written by Singh himself who makes no secret of sharing the plot which unravels the nuances of cultural and generational contrasts which two lead characters born and bred in UK come across upon their maiden visit to Punjabi hinterland. Adds Singh that casting in form of Jimmy Shergill and Amarinder Gill and their mutual chemistry is going to be a major attraction. Elaborating further Singh adds that typical UK born characters, the lead Punjabi characters are surprising and surprised at the same time while coming across with Punjabi set of values back in Punjab. The comedy of characters and situation punctuate the movie across its length and depth, adds Singh.
The movie which also features Deep Dhillon, Arun Bali and Akshita will have comical high points with noted and acclaimed comedians in Gurpreet Ghuggi and Rana Ranabir who are dead set to tickle the funny bone of audiences again. The deadly duo is back after Singh’s last venture ‘Mera Pind- My home’ which enthralled the audiences by its interesting plots even as comical sub plots had the audiences delirious with delight.
Adds Singh that Babloo Kumar and Sukhshinder Shinda have done the melodious bit through their musical compositions which have been lent silver voice by actor Amrinder Gill himself along with rocking singer Labh Janjua, Sardool Sikander, Jasbir Jassi, Sunidhi Chauhan, Pooja and Sudesh Kumari. Lyrics part carries the typical Babu Singh Mann, Amarjit Musapuria and Rana Ranbir magic while wit and punch through dialogues are Rana Ranbir’s contribution.
While sharing notes Amarinder Gill remarked that Manmohan Singh’s vision as a director is what got me into movies and I hope it will be great take off as the movie promises entertainment, comic and social message though its dramatic presentation of contrasts being experienced by Punjabis.
Manmohan Singh it may be added has previously directed hit Punjabi movies including Mera Pin- My Home, Jee Aayaan Nu, Asaan Nun Maan Watna Da, Yaran Nal Bahraan, Dil Apna Punjabi and Miti Wajaan Mardi.
